Student Board Nominations Open

NIEA is accepting nominations for the Student Member seat on the NIEA Board of Directors (one-year term, 2026–2027). This role centers student voice in NIEA’s work and offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to Native education.

Eligibility

• Must be an NIEA member in good standing
• Must be a current student from the state of Hawaiʻi
• May be enrolled part-time or full-time in an accredited higher education institution
• Must be a student for two full semesters or three quarters or trimesters within the NIEA membership year (as outlined in the NIEA Constitution)
• Must be able to actively participate in bi-monthly virtual board meetings and occasional committee discussions

Selection

The NIEA Board of Directors will review all eligible nominations and select the Student Member.

Nominations must be submitted by Friday, August 7, 2026.
