SUPPORTING THE LUKACHUKAI COMMUNITY BOARD OF EDUCATION, INC. IN ALL EFFORTS TO SEEKING AND ALLOCATING FUNDS TOWARDS THE NEW SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION.

WHEREAS, the National Indian Education Association (NIEA) was established in 1969 for the purpose of advocating, planning, and promoting the unique and special educational needs of American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians; and

WHEREAS, NIEA as the largest national Indian organization of American Indians, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian educators, administrators, parents, and students in the United States, provides a forum to discuss and act upon issues affecting the education of Indian and Native people; and

WHEREAS, through its unique relationship with Indian nations and tribes, the federal government has established programs and resources to meet the educational needs of American Indians, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiians, residing on and off their reserved or non-reserved homelands; and

WHEREAS, NIEA acknowledge the Lukachukai Community Board of Education, Inc. as a Grant School converted from the Bureau of Indian Affairs School, and

WHEREAS, NIEA recognizes the Lukachukai Community Board of Education, Inc. serving students from Kindergarten to Eight Grade and from the surrounding areas of Tsaile/Wheatfields, Round Rock and Lukachukai Chapters.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the National Indian Education Association fully accepts and acknowledge the Lukachukai Community Board of Education, Inc. needs for a new school facility.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the National Indian Education Association fully supports the request for immediate assistance by and all resources to assist in seeking and allocating funds towards new school construction to serve the safe and welfare of each students in obtaining adequate educational services.
