Integrate Native languages, histories, and cultures into the schools to help ground students in who they are, where they come from, and support them in fulfilling their purpose;
Place based learning that is derived from the community’s perspective and lived experiences throughout the entire learning process;
Application of Native thought and philosophy in order for Native students to be college, career, and community ready.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the National Indian Education Association will continue to advocate with Congress and the Department of Education on the priorities of Native American languages, including building upon these recommendations and full implementation of NALA in order to increase support for Native American languages being used as primary languages of education; and
