First Kids 1st: Advancing a Shared Native Children’s Agenda

The health and well-being of our communities is dependent upon the health and well-being of our children. We have a shared responsibility as a tribal community to address the issues facing our children and families and create the conditions in which our children can thrive. We must ensure that Native children have the resources they need to become successful and to develop to their full potential. This requires a shared vision and a common understanding of children’s changing circumstances and needs. This shared vision, the Native Children’s Agenda, will guide the National Indian Child Welfare Association (NICWA), National Congress of American Indians (NCAI), National Indian Health Board (NIHB), and National Indian Education Association (NIEA) in our ongoing efforts to improve the well-being of our children and families. We refer to the implementation of the Native Children’s Agenda as putting First Kids 1st.For information on our partners, please visit their websites using the links below. NCAI
