About the Poster Session
A poster session is a forum for young, emerging and experienced professionals to share best practices and related resources with colleagues. The NIEA poster session will highlight successful and innovative research, programming and practices within Native education spanning Pre-K through Post-Secondary. Poster presentations will highlight the main points or components of your best practice in a way that participants can easily learn about a topic. Pictures, graphs, data, and text are typical tools used to display information effectively.
The poster session submission deadline is May 10, 2019.
Please have this information available when completing a request to present:
- Presenter name(s)
- Organization, school or affiliated institution
- Contact information for presenter, including phone number (reachable during summer months), email and mailing address. If there is more than one presenter, choose one person to be the contact.
- Short description of the proposed topic (50 words or less)
- Description of how your poster will address our criteria as listed above (150 words or less)
Poster Submissions should be submitted as a Word or PDF document to Kurrinn Abrams, firstname.lastname@example.org, 202-544-7290 no later than May 10, 2019.
20-30 poster sessions will be selected for presentation at the 50th Annual Convention in Minneapolis, MN. Further poster session details will be announced closer to convention.
Research proposals not accepted to present during the research strand will be extended an invitation to participate in the poster session. Research proposals accepted to present during the research strand will also be extended an invitation to participate in the poster session.
Confirmation will be e-mailed starting on Friday, May 24, 2019 to notify presenters the status of their proposal.
Presenters are required to register for the Convention no later than Friday, September 6, 2019.
