As the most inclusive national organization working to support Native education, NIEA partners with tribes and Native education organizations to serve the 637,000 American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian students who attend school within the United States. Through these partnerships, NIEA leads efforts to advocate for programs that prepare Native youth for college, career, and community success.

In order to best serve our students and communities, NIEA focuses on key issue areas when advocating for Native education at the federal and state levels.
